Reservation only @ entry level in jobs

M Veerappa Moily

Veerappa Moily the former Chief Minister of Karnataka and the present Chairman of Administrative Reforms Commission said “No one should take entry into civil services as a permanent guarantee of continuing in the job. Inefficient officers will have to be removed”; further he clarified and said “We have been toying with several ideas. One of them is keeping the reservation formula only up to the entry level in the civil services. After that, the merit of the candidate will decide his or her fate. We want the best of brains in the administration.

The Administrative Reforms Commission may favour limiting reservation up to the entry level in jobs and also the Government proposed revamp of the Civil Services Act.

This is really a revolutionary idea at Government level and it will be a great beginning of reforms in the country.
